John Nolan is a PBA endorsed forensic and clinical psychologist. He offers psychological assessment and report writing for criminal offenders who may benefit from these services before attending court. Mr Nolan’s major interest is reporting on the potential of a client to benefit from rehabilitation. This approach is sometimes known as therapeutic jurisprudence where the judiciary and the treatment provider work interactively to assist offenders to change their lives and reduce the risk of re-offending.
Mr Nolan has 23 years of clinical experience including 12 years in a residential alcohol and drug rehabilitation centre.
Mr Nolan’s Masters thesis empirically examined psychological change in voluntary and legally coerced clients of a residential drug and alcohol treatment program. It was published in the Australian and New Zealand Psychiatry, Psychology and Law Journal in November 2009.
Today, Mr Nolan regularly provides forensic assessments and court reports for all types of offending behaviour.
